Advance registration is closed for Community Mitzvah Day. Walk-ins are welcome. See you on Sunday!
So many in our local community are still feeling the financial impact of our current economic situation. Food insecurity remains a huge problem as people are struggling to pay for rent, medications and other bills. The HaMotzi Dinner Program at KI is sponsoring a Food and Toiletry Drive.
On Community Mitzvah Day, we ask community volunteers to come to KI for an indoor volunteer opportunity to help sort and package the donated items.
In addition to registering below to volunteer on April 23, you can also donate the following items in the weeks leading up to the Jewish Federation’s Israel 75 Community Mitzvah Day. There will be a bin in KI’s lobby to collect donations. All donations must be in date, that is, not having an expired use-by date.
You can donate non-perishable food items (no pork or shellfish in any of the food items), such as:
peanut butter and jelly
pasta
pasta sauce (in plastic or cans)
non-sugary cereal
sugar-free items
juice (in plastic jars)
canned soup (chunky or regular) or stew (beef only)
boxed milk (no refrigeration)
rice
canned fruit
veggies
tuna
chicken
salmon
ravioli
You can donate toiletries, such as:
shampoo
soap
deodorant
toothpaste
feminine hygiene products, etc.
Hosting Organization’s COVID Policy: We encourage the proper wearing of face masks and will have a supply of face masks on hand on the day of the event.
